"Is it consistent to have leaders who belong to secret organizations?"

Blatant Inconsistency

Living in a country where our founders sought to have a government "for and by the people," wouldn’t there be reason to expect that our leaders would refrain from being involved in ANYTHING that might cause questions to be raised about their loyalties?

In fact our leaders are required to take an oath of office solemnly swearing to have allegiance ONLY to the nation they were elected to govern. IS IT THEN CONSISTENT TO HAVE LEADERS WHO BELONG TO SECRET ORGANIZATIONS?

Why are these organizations secret? Could there possibly be any reason other than that they don’t want others to know the reason the organization in question exists?

Such membership can only be in DIRECT conflict with the oath they take.

It is generally recognized that if any member of these organizations reveal ANYTHING about the reason these organization exist, the consequences would be grave.

Wouldn’t such membership then be deemed TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE for a leader supposedly unencumbered by ANY obligation that could possibly conflict with the responsibilities given them by the voters?

For a nation to have strayed so far from what our founders CLEARLY intended for our country, isn’t it reasonable to question whether memberships in such organizations might be the root cause of the problems we face in practically EVERY area of our lives?

For a nation with many leaders who flaunt the Bible studies and the prayer meetings they attend, can their apparent indifference to this issue be any indication of the seriousness of their affection to either God or Country?
