Are we better off today than we were four years ago?

The G.W. Bush Record
His First Four Years as President...
...and What's in Store for the Next Four

When George W. Bush was campaigning to become President of the United States in 1999, some of his more important issues were…

  • Avoid becoming entangled in the affairs of other nations
  • Improve the education of our children
  • Restore integrity to government
  • Improve the plight of working people
  • Limit the size of the federal government

What has taken place since he assumed office shapes up like this…

  • He attacked a country that was no immediate threat to our own
  • Our children now have the lowest academic standing in math and science of any industrialized nation, and they are still not learning to read
  • Fraud is rampant in our financial institutions
  • We are lied to constantly by government officials and no federal agency is effectively doing the job assigned to it (some even brag about not enforcing laws they were charged with enforcing)
  • Normal fiscal restraints have disappeared
  • The middle class is disappearing with the loss of manufacturing jobs; few can afford health care and many must hold multiple jobs to support the family

Since January 20, 2000, we have also seen the following…

  • The president has retained a political team that engineered the razor thin win of November 2000

  • He dealt the death blow to the two party system when he chose to ignore the alleged gross wrongdoings of the Clinton Administration

  • Although a professing Christian, he doesn't DEMAND truth and honesty in his administration

  • He refuses to enforce laws that might cost him votes

  • He is promoting a program to test children AND ADULTS for mental illness

  • He tolerates punishing boys for just being boys

  • He denies third parties the right to participate in the election process

  • He refused to support Roy Moore in his stand for the Ten Commandments

  • He keeps adding new federal agencies rather than requiring existing ones to do the jobs assigned to them

  • The 2004 presidential campaign was like two children arguing "I can do it better than you"

  • The so-called presidential debates of 2004 totally ignored discussion of CRITICAL issues facing our country

  • Our borders remain wide open to any and all

  • Leaders of foreign countries have labeled the US as the greatest threat to world peace and we have lost most of our foreign friends

  • The SEC granted CEOs and CFOs a two year grace period for them to "correct" financial reports (the primary cause of the recent financial scandals)

  • He keeps the UN afloat when the vast majority of members would do most anything to destroy our country and many citizens want us OUT

As one former president asked, "Are we better off today than we were four years ago?"
