Simple Solutions to Serious Problems

  • Establish prisons in abandoned military camps, grouping people by type of crime and let them organize, supervise and provide for themselves.

  • Sentence violent criminals to life (in such camps) for FIRST offence. Why should violent criminals get a second chance?

  • HealthCare - Require each family or person to directly pay for all medical costs up to 5% (or whatever) of annual income before eligible for benefits. Result - tremendous savings in administrative costs.

  • Prevent criminals from capitalizing on criminal acts (no books, movies, etc.).

  • Deny government benefits to ANYONE guilty of a criminal act, at least until they have repaid the cost of their prosecution, incarceration, apprehension, and retribution of FOREVER.

  • Deny public housing to ANYONE who fails to take proper care of such facilities.

  • Deny benefits to anyone found abusing or fraudulently obtaining benefits - forever.

  • Deny benefits to any government official, employee who betrays the public trust.

  • Send ANYONE involved with drugs to a 90 day work camp. (The Japanese reduced their drug problem ‘arrest rate’ from over 55,000 to 471 in four years by so doing).

  • Require school students to achieve the ‘old’ academic standard before being passed to the next grade. (It’s cruel to a student to suggest they have achieved an academic level when they have not)

  • Provide most financial family assistance in the form of vouchers designated for specific use. (Much of this is intended for children when in fact it is spent on tobacco, alcohol, drugs, lottery, etc.)

  • Require any and all spokespersons to indicate whether they are reporting fact or opinion. If Fact, they must be able to prove it. (The most serious Civil crime in a democracy is to deceive the voter).

  • To salvage the economy, cancel any environmental or business regulations which cannot be proved to be absolutely necessary. This would reduce the cost of all goods and services dramatically, in effect giving a substantial ‘raise’ to everyone. There is not a profound thought in any of the above recommendations, only simple common sense ideas which should have been made part of these programs when they were established.

Motivation is what made this nation a world power in 100 years or less. The implementation of the above would do much to restore that motivation and would either solve our budget problem or make a major contribution toward solving it.

The above would not hurt anybody but would help everybody.
