...most people today recognize that our country is headed in the wrong direction.”

Truth in Government, Inc.

Are you concerned about the steady flow of false and misleading information coming from people in our government? When not being fed lies and misinformation, we are often denied hearing discussions which include subjects which are politically INcorrect.

While there is no question but that there are many good and honest people in government, there are far too many who have little regard for the oath of office which they take upon entering government service.

The depth of this problem is revealed by the following reports.

  1. Just prior to the 1996 election, Senator Christopher Dodd, general chairman of the Democratic Party, stated on the Don Imus Show that “...eight more days and I can start telling you the truth...” This was reported in the Washington Times Weekly, Nov. 10, 1999. Why didn't the other party expose this scandal for what it was?

  2. In the Summer 1999 issue of Guide Post, published by the Pacific Legal Foundation, EPA Administrator Carol Browner made the following statement before a Senate committee: “Are we going to tell the American people the truth or are we not going to tell the truth? Now, that is the process we are involved in, and I don't think any of us have been far enough into it to reach a conclusion.” Why wasn't she forced to resign on the spot?

  3. In Oct. 2002, Martin Schram of the Scripps Howard News Service wrote on the subject, “The truth is you're not getting the election truth.

  4. In the Nov. 2002 issue of NewsMax, Michael Reagan wrote, “Even though I live in the greatest country in the world, with the most freedoms, I'm really sick of the politicians, I'm sick of the media, I'm sick of all of them. Everybody lies to us, and the media, who are supposed to be the watchdogs, sit back and instead of exposing lies, they protect the liars.

In recent months, there have been a number of other news reports pointing out false information being fed to the voters, in the secular press as well as the conservative media.

In a country where legislators are expected to represent the will of the voters, how can voters make intelligent decisions in the voting booth under these conditions? Our legislators also suggest that they are responding to the results of “polls.” What value is a poll when the participants are not accurately informed about the issues?

There is good reason to believe that this problem is why so many have opted out of the voting process.

In an effort to help restore the confidence of citizens in their government, Truth in Government, Inc. has been launched. The initial effort will focus on three objectives and a website is being established to maintain an up-to-date record of progress in each area.

  1. Names of people and organizations asked to support the effort and their response.

  2. Names of legislators and federal department heads asked to sign a pledge of support, and their response. Pledge violations will also be reported.

  3. A section where reports on various subjects will be posted that will be a factual presentation on each issue, and one where “tid-bits” of politically incorrect data will be posted.

If this effort is successful, it could be expanded to ask editors of the media to sign pledges committing themselves to publish only factual information unless attributed to other sources.

There is good reason to believe that most people today recognize that our country is headed in the wrong direction. If this is a concern of yours, would you be willing to contribute to this effort? Already, a number of prominent national figures have indicated a willingness to support this effort – Paul Weyrich, Howard Phillips, Gary Aldrich, Pat and Bay Buchanan, and others. As indicated in objective #1, you will be able to follow the names of those people and organizations willing to be identified as supporters.

While there are many worthy organizations asking for your support, can any of them be as important as one with the objective of getting voters the critical information they need to intelligently select those to represent them in government?

For those of us with children facing an uncertain future, can anything be more important than this effort? Let your contribution be a measure of your concern for the future of your children. If you would like to be one of the first to provide the means to get this effort off to a “flying start,” please consider making a significant contribution to help get this program under way. Contributions are tax deductible and should be mailed to:
